This Cape Cad is a beach house as a residence that can serve both as a weekend getaway with friends or a holiday home for themselves and their families. Design ZeroEnergy tasked to create the table that would accommodate the shelter makes a very energy efficient.
The mass of the structure responds directly to the design constraints. When the whole family inhabited the house for a client or a holiday vacation, the "sleeping bars" that contains more bedrooms and living conditions are used. To save energy when not in use the bar to sleep can be disabled, effectively halving the size of the house and the total energy use. Clean the interior of the building came with a smart shell. The material in this space chosen for their durability in the harsh marine environment and sustainable nature.
The house was divided into two main volumes. The "live bar" includes a kitchen, dining room and area and two bedrooms. In addition to intelligent masses that combines some of the principles of passive design, Truro Residence combines solar cells for energy production, and geothermal heating and cooling system will bring greater environmental efficiency in the structure
Polished concrete, bluestone, and bamboo flooring paired with a tin roof and siding cedar decking IPE. Truro residence design in response to specific client needs is a good example of the practicality of meeting sustainability. For the comfort level for families and residents are very satisfactory.
